Internet Explorer
RoboForm fully supports IE 6, IE 7 and IE 8 (32-bit versions). RoboForm runs on Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista, and Windows 7 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions).
Firefox
Selecting the option "Install Adapter that allows RoboForm to work in Firefox" during the installation will allow RoboForm to work with Firefox. No separate download is required for Firefox 3.0 and 3.5.
If you have older Firefox version,
see details below.
iPhone / iPod Touch
A free App of RoboForm Password Manager is available in the App Store. For more information on RoboForm for iPhone please go here.
Google Chrome
An alpha release of RoboForm for Chromium is now available.
All JavaScript Browsers using RoboForm Online
The RoboForm Bookmarklet allows RoboForm Online users to save usernames and passwords as well as automatically login to websites on browsers where RoboForm is not installed.
The RoboForm Bookmarklet works on all modern browsers, even those where RoboForm is not currently supported such as Chrome, Opera, and Safari giving users much greater flexibility. For more information, please go here.
Safari on Mac
Safari on Mac will be supported by the end of 2010.
Based on Internet Explorer
Native Integration.
These browsers integrate with RoboForm natively -- they host RoboForm toolbar:
Avant Browser,
MaxThon,
NetCaptor,
Slim Browser.
Lower Toolbar Only.
AOL, MSN and other browsers (see complete list below) integrate with
RoboForm, but only Lower RF toolbar is attached to them.
Upper Toolbar and standard toolbar buttons are not available.
RoboForm TaskBar Icon must be present for RoboForm to work with these browsers.
AOL Client.
The AOL browser has two kinds of windows:
(i) WIN32 window.
A fixed-size window that cannot be maximized.
(ii) HTML window.
A variable-size window that can be maximized, has context menu.
RoboForm attaches to HTML windows but not to WIN32 windows.
Firefox, Mozilla and Netscape
RoboForm Adapter for Firefox, Mozilla, etc.
RoboForm works in Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape
if you install RoboForm Adapter ver 6.9.98 .
RoboForm Installer Installs Adapter Automatically into Firefox.
RoboForm installer automatically installs Adapter into Firefox 3.0 and 3.5.
if you check "Install Adapter that allows RoboForm to work in Firefox"
box in RF installer.
Turn off native browser password managers as they interfere with RoboForm:
In "Tools -> Options -> Security -> Passwords" uncheck "Remember Passwords".
Install Adapter XPI manually into other browsers.
You should install Adapter XPI manually into
Mozilla-based browsers other than listed above.
* Type about:config in address bar and make sure that xpinstall.enabled is set to true.
* Click one of the links below from the browser into which you want to install:
* If install is blocked, click Edit Options and Allow installs from www.roboform.com.
* Confirm installation and restart the browser, RoboForm should work now.
Turn off native browser password managers as they interfere with RoboForm:
* Mozilla/Netscape: Uncheck "Edit -> Preferences -> Privacy -> Password -> Remember Passwords".
* Netscape 8: "Tools -> Options -> AutoFill -> PassCards -> Preferences -> When I enter .. -> Do Nothing".
Netscape 8: Adapter works only with Firefox mode of Netscape 8 and not with IE mode (Cannot Find Forms).
Uninstall: RoboForm extension can be uninstalled only from "Tools -> Extensions" dialog of the browser.
RoboForm uninstaller does not uninstall RoboForm extension from the browser.
Alt+Click does not work in Firefox.
Alt+Click key combination that forces AutoSave in RoboForm is used by Firefox to save page.
So in Firefox use Alt+Shift+Click to force RoboForm AutoSave.
RoboForm2Go + Adapter.
RoboForm2Go can attach to Firefox browser
even if Adapter has not been previously installed into the browser.
We recommend to uninstall XPI-based Adapters from all your new Mozilla-based browsers
and use only installation from the RoboForm installer.
Adapter Tab in RoboForm Options.
We added Adapter tab to RoboForm -> Options dialog.
This tab shows all installed Firefox adapters.
It allows to install and uninstall Firefox adapters.
It also controls whether RoboForm can attach to Firefox if Adapter is not installed.
Portable Firefox + RoboForm2Go.
Portable Firefox can be used from any portable drive without installing it on a computer.
* RoboForm2Go now integrates with Portable Firefox.
* RoboForm2Go attaches toolbar to the bottom of the browser window.
Reinstall Firefox if Browser Profile is Damaged.
Due to a number of reasons your browser profile may become damaged and corrupted.
Symptoms: old RF adapter cannot be uninstalled, skins are corrupted, etc.
The only way to fix a problem is to do a complete reinstall of Firefox and Mozilla:
* Close all Firefox and Mozilla windows and its taskbar icon.
* Uninstall Firefox from "Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs".
* Uninstall Mozilla from "Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs".
* Delete folder C:\Documents and Settings\<Your User Name>\Application Data\Mozilla.
* Delete folder C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox.
* Delete folder C:\Program Files\mozilla.org.
* Delete folder C:\Program Files\Common Files\mozilla.org.
* Search for all folders that contain "Firefox" or "Mozilla" in their name and delete them.
* Install Firefox (or Mozilla) again.
* Install RoboForm Adapter/Extension as described above.
Similar instructions apply to Netscape.
Size RoboForm Toolbar Using Toolbar Palette.
RoboForm toolbar can occupy less than the whole line, if you use Toolbar Palette.
Right-click Firefox File menu bar and select Customize.
Scroll down the list to see RoboForm toolbar.
Drag this RoboForm toolbar item to any Firefox toolbar.
Click Done and RoboForm toolbar will occupy the designated space.
Then close the native RoboForm toolbar, as you will not need it anymore.
Native Toolbar vs Attached Toolbar.
The only function of RoboForm Native Mozilla Toolbar in Mozilla-based browsers is to start the Attached Toolbar.
Attached Toolbar is a window that is drawn on top of Native Toolbar.
It follows the browser in size and position and otherwise behaves like a normal toolbar.
