RoboForm Is Better Than Facebook!

Ok, ok… we know that Facebook does a lot of things very well and that it has been an invaluable tool for connecting billions of people worldwide. By no means is this an announcement that RoboForm is starting our own social network! But there is a danger in using the “Facebook Connect” feature that most people do not realize and which could result in losing access to your logins. If you’re not aware, the “Connect with Facebook” feature allows a person to access certain websites using their Facebook account as a login, rather than a traditional username and password.

Password Security Survey Results- Part 2

Recently, RoboForm sponsored a password security survey via uSamp, which polled 1,000 random people in the US and UK about their personal and professional password security practices. In last week’s post, we discussed results pertaining to personal password security and gave readers some ideas for making themselves more secure online. In this post, we’re going to be focusing on professional password security and its effects on overall corporate security and workplace productivity.

Password Security Survey Results- Part 1

With the number of data breaches rising to alarming levels over the past couple of years, we here at RoboForm recently sponsored a survey via uSamp, which polled 1,000 random people in the US and UK about their password security practices. While we expected to find that many of those surveyed did not practice proper password security, we were surprised by many of the results. Over the next couple of weeks, we are going to be sharing some of the most interesting (and sometimes disturbing) trends that we discovered when analyzing the results of this survey, along with our recommendations to make yourself more secure online.

How to Protect Yourself from the Recent Anthem Hack

As you probably have heard, nearly 80 million records were reported stolen last week as a result of Anthem, America’s second-largest health insurance company, being hacked. While information is still coming in about exactly what data was compromised, it appears that email addresses and social security numbers were a part of this breach.

Change Your Password Day

It’s almost that day of the year again… it’s National Change Your Password Day! Never heard of it before? National Change Your Password Day was created by Gizmodo and Lifehacker back in 2012. They wanted to recognize February 1st as a day that is completely devoted to changing passwords, and creating new secure passwords, to keep online data safe.

Hacks and Breaches of 2014

When it comes to data breaches, most of us have the tendency to think, "Oh that'll never happen to me", followed by the superstitious knock on wood. Unfortunately, the truth is that 2014 has been a year marked by several major attacks resulting in login credentials and credit card numbers being stolen. Here are some of the well-publicized breaches that have occurred so far this year:

2014 Black Friday/ Cyber Monday Sale

Remember back when taking advantage of Black Friday deals meant getting up at 3am to wait in long lines? Happily those days are mostly behind us, as now you can often take advantage of great deals from the comfort (and warmth) of your own home. As a bonus, you can reach over for that leftover turkey whenever you want!

RoboForm is an Undergraduate’s ‘BFF’ for the Common Application

August 1st, a day which to most means one more sunny month left. However, for high school seniors it means the day the Common Application comes out. The Common Application is an undergraduate college admission application that students may use to apply to any of 517 member colleges and universities in America and Europe. This year, the Common App got a face lift and is now much more sleek and easy to navigate through, but that doesn’t make it any less tedious. It is a thorough and long process that asks applicants everything from their religion, their parent’s education, to details about their siblings. There’s not much time to fill out these long blocks of information considering the busy lives of teens and students should devote their Common App time to writing the essay to show their true personality. However, RoboForm can help greatly with this process. We’ve talked to some students who use RoboForm and they have given us some great tips for using RoboForm with the Common App.
